"Thou shouldst eat to live; not live to eat." Socrates Greek philosopher (469 BC - 399 BC)
Some of us here at RestaurantGrades.com prescribe to "eat to live" and others to the "live to eat" philosophy. However, what we are passionately united by is our "need to know" desire about the cleanliness of "fast food' or "fine dining" establishments. All of us at RestaurantGrades.com have traveled extensively, domestically and internationally and after having multiple run ins with food poisoning while dining out, we concluded that there had to be a better way of knowing a restaurants sanitary problems, before going to it. In the past, there was no way of checking a restaurants cleanliness short of contacting the local Health Department, but because of the Internet, we are able to put all of that information into an easy to use website for the public. Our goal is to help spread awareness of sanitary violations, and ensure that locals and tourists alike can find the best and cleanest foods at their disposal. While we have been primarily focused on bringing this information to New York City, we are in the process of adding many other states in North America as well as countries around the world to our databases.
